Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Rightful ("we", "us") makes an iPhone app and web app that help you find and track class-action settlements. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Companies you select. The apps and companies you tap so we can match you to settlements. Before you sign in, these stay on your device or in your browser.
- Account details. If you sign in with your email, we store that address and email you a one-time sign-in code. If you sign in with Google (or Apple on iPhone), we receive a user ID and, if you share them, your name and email address. With Apple's "Hide My Email," we only see a relay address.
- Claim progress. Settlements you mark as filed, claim IDs you choose to enter, and payout amounts you record.
- Subscription records. For iPhone purchases, Apple's signed transaction information; for web purchases, your subscription status from our payment provider (such as plan and renewal date). We never see or store your full payment card.
- Browser storage. On the website, your selected companies and claim progress are saved in your browser until you sign in.
- Anonymous usage steps. Which step of the app you reached (for example "saw the paywall" or "opened checkout"), plus your browser's time zone and language, so we can find and fix places where the app is confusing or broken. No IP addresses and no advertising identifiers.
- Notification token. If you turn on reminders, a device token Apple provides so we can send deadline and new-match alerts.
What we never collect
- Bank, card, or email passwords, or access to your inbox or accounts.
- The information you enter on official claim forms. Those forms are hosted by court-appointed settlement administrators and governed by their privacy policies.
- We never sell your personal information.
Advertising measurement
Rightful uses the Meta Pixel on this website so we can tell which of our ads bring people who find settlements worth claiming. It records page views and a few steps — seeing your matches, signing in, starting checkout, and subscribing — and shares them with Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which may match them to your Meta account and use them to measure and target ads. Under California law this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, turn on your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal, use an ad or tracker blocker, or email us and we’ll exclude you.
How we use it
Only to run Rightful: matching you to settlements, syncing your claims across devices, confirming your subscription, sending reminders you've turned on, and responding to support requests.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to operate the app: Supabase (secure database and sign-in hosting), Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and push notifications), Google (Sign in with Google, if you choose it), Paddle, Gumroad and Razorpay (web payments), Resend (sending sign-in emails), and Vercel (website hosting). They process data only to provide those services.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated Rightful data at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account and data. Deleting your account cancels any web subscription. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your Apple ID settings.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and our database enforces per-user access so no one else can read your picks or claims.
Children
Rightful is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Use in-app deletion or email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
